Delivery Information

All items featured on this web site have their anticipated lead times stated when viewing the product. Furniture delivery lead times refer to the maximum time anticipated for customers’ furniture to arrive from the manufacturer to the warehouse of Big Furniture Superstore in Plymouth. In all cases delivery quotes are not guaranteed but should be regarded as a guide to the anticipated waiting time under normal circumstances.

Delivery procedure 

A residential phone number must be provided for all orders placed, and this number must be for the address on the order, and in the name of the person placing the order. We must also have a number (eg mobile) at which you can be contacted on the day of delivery.

You will be contacted, in advance by our sales team, who will arrange a delivery date. This will be specified as a morning of afternoon time slot (10am-1pm or 1pm-5pm)

We will only deliver once your whole order is complete. Ie if an item states 1-3 weeks delivery and another 4-6 weeks delivery then we will deliver once the last item is in. If you require the first item you are more than welcome to collect or pay to have that item delivered.

Please make sure all access points are clear of obstacles.

You should also ensure there is someone in your property to receive and sign for delivery.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the furniture they purchase can pass through the doorways, hallways, rooms and staircases to the room of their choice. In the event of restricted access our drivers will leave the goods at the nearest convenient point for the customer.

Measurements should have been checked for access to the property using our measuring guide prior to ordering.

Goods delivered by us as standard will be placed in the customer’s preferred room, provided that reasonable access is available.

If assistance is likely to be required in unpacking and inspection of the goods, please mention this to us when we telephone you to arrange delivery there is an additional cost for this service.

It will not be the responsibility of The Big Furniture Superstore to deliver, unpack or assemble furniture in locations that have no reasonable access for the items being delivered.

Delivery of large items Larger items, such as beds, wardrobes and tables, in the ranges of fully assembled furniture are often supplied partly dismantled to assist in delivery. If you require assembly there is an additional charge for this service.

What happens if I am out when you deliver?

We will be unable to leave your furniture and it will be returned to our store. Someone will contact you to arrange a further delivery date. There will be a re-delivery charge of £49 payable before re-delivery.

How much is delivery?

Delivery starts from just £49 to the room of your choice. The driver is able to unwrap and take rubbish away, this is £30 per item payable to the driver on the day.

Do you assemble my furniture?

Most items are delivered ready assembled. If they are needing assembly the driver will assemble the items. The cost starts from £30 an item payable on the day of delivery direct to the driver. You will have to let us know that you require this service at least 48 hours in advance of delivery.

Can you take my old bed away?

Our delivery driver can despose of old beds and mattresses at a cost of £40 per bed or mattress. This is payable to the driver directly on the day of delivery. You will have to let us know at least 48 hours in advance of delivery if you require this service.
