Ulyana Hammond uses subtly shifting shades of greys, sandy browns, olive greens and iron-greys create this stunningly stratified seascape - brought scintillatingly to life by the artful use of silver foil highlights to scatter sunlight on the spray. That layered, almost geological design with its clever use of torn and raised Newell paper against a Newell paper backdrop is a great example of Ulyana's singular vision. It perfectly blends the inspiration of her formative years in St. Petersburg with hints of the stratified chalk cliffs and shingle shores of her Isle of Wight home today.
